Yoga for Moms and Kids

What better way to stay in shape than to work out with your kids? Yoga is a low impact program that builds strength and flexibility. No matter what your age these are important parts of being healthy. Yoga also teaches control and the functions of different areas of the body. While many think of yoga as a “hippie” thing involving meditation and spirituality in fact nearly everyone can benefit from this exercise.

Relaxation, breathing, stretching and training your muscles is never a bad thing and teaching your children early the benefits of being in shape is a wonderful thing for parents to do.

Many parents complain that they don’t have time to work out or go to the gym bcause they have children. But mom and kids yoga programs at the gym or at home are a great way to not only get and stay in shape, but to connect with your kids as well.

Believe it or not kids can be great motivators. When they enjoy doing yoga with you, they will make sure you don’t skip a day.

Visit your local gym to see if they have a Mom and Me yoga class or shop online to find DVD programs geared toward parents and kids.

Now you don’t have to worry about taking time away from your children to stay in shape, you can be healthy together.
