New Hampshire has fun things to do both indoor and outdoor to help you keep your kids minds and hands busy.

Free Fun

The Clydesdale Hamlet at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery (http://www.budweisertours.com/) is a popular attraction in New Hampshire. For no cost, you can bring your kids to see the Clydesdales in their beautiful home. Keep in mind that the brewery tour, also offered for free, does give adults a free beer at the end, so you may not want to take the kids on that. For a tranquil, natural experience, take your children to the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge (http://www.cathedralofthepines.org/), where they can enjoy a quiet moment in the forest.

Educational Fun

The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire (http://www.childrens-museum.org/) in Dover offers hands-on science and cultural exhibits that teach kids about their world through hands-on learning. It includes a dinosaur area, giant kaleidoscopic room, and indoor submarine, among other exhibits. In Manchester, kids six and younger can play at Kaleidoscope Children’s Museum (http://www.kaleidoscopechildrensmuseum.net/), which was specifically designed to help kids under school age use their imaginations and creativity. The Meredith Children’s Museum (http://www.thezeeum.com/) in Meredith offers similar hands-on attractions in the Lakes Region. If your kids are a little older, they may appreciate the activities and exhibits at the See Science Center (http://www.see-sciencecenter.org/) in Manchester.

Environmental Fun

New Hampshire does not have a zoo, but you can get close to local animals at the petting zoo at Charmingfare Farm (http://www.charmingfare.com/), which has several North American animals and a petting zoo. The state has numerous outdoor recreational areas that offer kids a chance to reconnect with nature. White Lake State Park (http://www.nhstateparks.com/whitelake) is one of these popular areas. Here you can fish, hike, canoe, swim, and boat on White Lake, which has a beach, or simply take a hike through the 72 acre forest at the park. The 18 miles of shoreline along the New Hampshire coast also offer outdoor recreation activities. Consider Hampton Beach for family-friendly beach fun.

Seasonal Fun

Plan to spend some time in the forests during the fall, when the color changes are breathtakingly beautiful. For fun things to do on Christmas , head to Santa’s Village (http://www.santasvillage.com/). This park is open all year long, but is particularly appropriate for a Christmas visit. Keep in mind that it is only open on weekends in the winter.

Just for Mom Fun

For the ultimate in relaxation, head to Concord to the Pure Indulgence Day Spa (http://www.pureindulgencespa.com/). Here you will be pampered and re-energized before you head back to your busy life. If you want to shop, remember that New Hampshire is a sales tax-free state. The Fox Run Mall in Newington is a popular shopping destination (http://www.shopfoxrunmall.com/).
