in Cleaning Tips

As a busy single mom, you often have to pick and choose what gets done, and cleaning may be last on your list most days. If you want to have the “always clean” house, here are some cleaning tasks that you need to put on the top of your priority list. Even if you ignore your other cleaning tasks, getting these done will give your home that “always clean” look.

Vacuuming

Kids make messes, and those messes end up on the floor. Take the time to vacuum several times per week. You will notice that your house looks instantly cleaner. If your time is very short, vacuum only the main, visible areas of the house.

De-clutter for 10 Minutes a Day

If you spend just 10 minutes per day de-cluttering and putting away things, your house will look much cleaner every single day, and the mess will not overwhelm you. Make your children responsible for putting away their own toys to help with this job.

Sweep

Sweep your kitchen and possibly your bathroom floor daily. This doesn’t take as long as you think it does, but it will help your house to look better.

Small Daily Tasks

Wipe down your kitchen and bathroom counters once per day. This will force you to deal with the clutter and also get the grime off before it has a chance to build up. You will be surprised how much time this frees when your real “cleaning” day comes, because your biggest culprits, the counters, will already be fixed. Similarly, make your bed every day. It takes just a minute, and you will find that it makes a tremendous difference in how you feel about your living space.

Single moms of course have so many things to think about, aside from thinking on how they are going to deal to their financial obligations they also have to consider all the house chores like cleaning. We know that house cleaning, is really hard task to accomplish, that’s why setting a to-do list is indeed a very good idea.

I’m completely obsessed with lists – not only are they a good idea, they’re just plain wonderful. To motivate and help yourself make lists, go get a pretty list pad and a fun pen, and make it a ritual to sit down every morning, or the night before, and make a daily list. I always like to put “make list” at the very top of my daily list, then cross it off. It makes you feel sort of productive that there’s already something done on your list!

These are all great tips. Once you get into the habit of doing them they take no time at all. If we leave the work pile up then that is all I get done over the weekend. I think that you can even assign jobs to older children such as wiping off the counters or sweeping.
